Gerel Dondovdorj Re-Elected as Member of the United Nations Committee on the Rights of Persons with Disabilities

Ulaanbaatar, June 13, 2024 /MONTSAME/. The 17th Session of the Conference of State Parties to the United Nations Convention on the Rights of Persons with Disabilities is taking place from June 11-13, 2024, in New York City, United States.


During the conference, the election of the Members of the UN Committee on the Rights of Persons with Disabilities (CRPD) for 2025-2028 was held. Gerel Dondovdorj, the National Coordinator of the Mongolian Disability Forum, a member of the CRPD from 2021-2024 has been reelected by a majority vote via secret ballot. 


The Committee, comprised of 18 Members of high moral standing and recognized for their competence and experience in the field covered by the Convention on the Rights of Persons with Disabilities monitors the implementation of the Convention.
