Chairman of the State Great Khural of Mongolia Pays a Courtesy Call on His Majesty King of Bhutan

Ulaanbaatar, July 9, 2024 /MONTSAME/. Chairman of the State Great Khural of Mongolia Amarbaysgalan Dashzevge has paid a courtesy call on King of Bhutan His Majesty Jigme Gesar Namgyal Wangchuck, who is on a State Visit to Mongolia.
Chairman of the State Great Khural D. Amarbayasgalan emphasized that Mongolia places great importance in the development of relations and cooperation with South Asian countries in its foreign policy towards the Asia-Pacific region. Mr. Amarbayasgalan highlighted Bhutan as an important partner in South Asia and expressed commitment to expanding and developing trade and economic cooperation with the Kingdom of Bhutan.
King of Bhutan His Majesty Jigme Gesar Namgyal Wangchuck congratulated Chairman Amarbayasgalan on being elected as the Speaker of the first parliament with 126 members formed under a mixed election system. Wishing the Speaker success, His Majesty King of Bhutan underscored that the cooperation and ties between the legislative bodies are crucial for strengthening the political relations between the two countries and establishing a legal framework for the relations between Mongolia and Bhutan, and expressed his confidence in active cooperation in this direction.
Chairman of the State Great Khural Amarbayasgalan noted that fostering close cooperation and productive meetings between the Parliaments of the two countries and intensifying the exchange of representatives at a parliamentary level is a fundamental basis for strengthening traditional relations. Mr. Amarbayasgalan assured that the State Great Khural of Mongolia would provide all-round support to the realization of the initiatives agreed by the Heads of State during the State Visit.
The Chairman expressed his delight that as part of the State Visit, King of Bhutan His Majesty Jigme Khesar Namgyel Wangchuck, and the Royal Family would attend the Opening Ceremony of the Naadam Festival as honored guests to get acquainted with Mongolia’s unique cultural heritage and rich history and wished His Majesty Jigme Khesar Namgyel Wangchuck success in his first State Visit to Mongolia, reported the Media and Public Relations Department of the State Great Khural of Mongolia.
