Ulaanbaatar, August 7, 2024 /MONTSAME/. The Mongolian National University of Medical Sciences (MNUMS), the Institute of Neuroscience, and the Mongolian Neuroscience Society are collaborating with the International Brain Research Organization (IBRO) for the development of artificial intelligence in the Mongolian medical sector. A notable example of this collaboration is an annual international scientific conference held in Mongolia.

The “Multidisciplinary Brain Science - 2024” international scientific conference discussed the need to use AI based on neuroscience.  Lecturer at the MNUMS and Coordinator of the associate school Dr. E.Tumenjin, stated that artificial intelligence is developing based on neuroscience. AI is inherently linked to neuroscience and forms its foundation. The annual international scientific conference allows us to learn from the development of global brain science and enhance the capabilities of our medical professionals.

It was noted that there is a need to utilize AI based on neuroscience to localize modern new technologies in brain science, improve the knowledge of specialists, and accelerate industrialization.

Mongolians have the potential to implement AI projects.

Director of the Brain Science Institute of MNUMS Dr. L. Battuvshin said, “Our country has the potential to implement artificial brain projects. For this, we primarily need mathematicians. Applied mathematics, a fundamental science, is well-developed in our country. Therefore, it is necessary to further educate the professionals in artificial intelligence and specialize deeply in this field.

Artificial brains can be created in the digital environment by incorporating neural cells. Extensive and constantly updated projects have been implemented in the European Union and Switzerland since 2000.
