Mongolia Mining 2024: A Platform for Collaboration and New Technologies

Ulaanbaatar, October 9, 2024 /MONTSAME/. The "Mongolia Mining 2024” International Mining Expo is being held on October 8-10, 2024, at Buyant Ukhaa Sports Palace. 




Mining is one of the key sectors of Mongolia’s economy. Continuous operation and growth in the mining sector require both foreign and domestic investment. In particular, advancements in mining technology and the supply of mining machinery and equipment play a crucial role. 


Head of the Organizing Committee of the Expo and General Director of “Minex Mongolia” LLC T. Battulga underscored, “The launch of the “Mongolia Mining 2024” Expo is characterized by showcasing all these elements in a comprehensive manner. The Expo serves as an international platform for business collaboration, introducing all the know-how of the necessary services and technical equipment for mining operations.”




“Mongolia Mining 2024” has been held continuously for the 13th year, excluding a year of the COVID-19 global pandemic, and has become one of the regular activities of the mining sector. 


Organizers of the Expo highlighted that at the outset of the Expo, over 2,000 individuals, organizations, and enterprises had registered to participate in the event. Moreover, numerous foreign companies and representatives from many countries, including China, Russia, Belarus, Japan, Australia, Canada, Germany, South Korea, Kazakhstan, and India, are taking part in the Expo. Aside from convening international enterprises and mining technology companies, the Expo promotes Mongolia's business tourism.




This year, the “Mongolia Mining” Expo attracted more than 250 companies from 20 countries, with around 3000 foreign and domestic representatives attending.


“Mongolia Mining 2024” Expo, under the theme “Responsible Mining-Sustainable Development”, is being organized in collaboration with the Council of Professional Mining Associations of Mongolia, which will also host its annual meetings, seminars, and training sessions to introduce the mining sector’s activities to the public. 


The three-day program of the Expo includes: 

  • Minister of Industry and Mineral Resources Tuvaan Tsevegdorj, Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of the Commonwealth of Australia to Mongolia Katie Smith, Director of Operations at “Transwest Mongolia” LLC Andrew Herod to extend greetings to the participants and visitors of the Expo.

  • Signing Ceremony of the Memorandum on Cooperation between the Asian Economic Development Association and the Council of Professional Mining Associations of Mongolia. 

  • Presentations on Australia’s mineral strategy, mineral exploration, geological research, and geotechnical programs; discussions on the legal reforms in the mineral resources sector.
