Complexes for Advanced Processing of Raw Materials and Products to Be Established

During the regular session of the Cabinet of Mongolia on October 9, 2024, Minister of Industry and Mineral Resources of Mongolia Tuvaan Tsevegdorj presented to the Cabinet members an overview of 14 mega projects and research and locations of the processing plants outlined in the Joint Government’s Action Program for 2024-2028.
The Government of Mongolia plans to implement 14 mega infrastructure and development projects as part of its four main policy priorities. In this context, processing plants for the advanced processing of raw materials and products, including “Coking-Chemical Complex,” “Coal-Chemical Complex,” “Copper Processing Complex,” “Steel Production Complex,” “Fluorspar Enriching Complex,” and “Construction Material Production Complex,” will be put into operation. Additionally, in the upcoming four years, the Government of Mongolia will implement an objective of establishing a small-sized pilot plant, producing synthetic fuels, advanced materials, and hydrogen, with an aim of enhancing value-added product processing, increasing gold extraction, constructing a gold refinery plant, and facilitating feasibility studies for future large-scale projects.
Furthermore, it has been resolved that in the fourth quarter of this year, the Cabinet meeting will discuss issues relating to granting special permits for the operation of industrial and technological parks to enterprises establishing industrial and technological parks in accordance with relevant laws and regulations, as well as acquiring and releasing of land of these parks for national strategic use.
