Foreign Minister of Mongolia Meets with Minister of Commerce, Industry, and Investment Promotion of Oman

Ulaanbaatar, February 20, 2025 /MONTSAME/. Minister of Foreign Affairs of Mongolia Battsetseg Batmunkh is on an official visit to the Sultanate of Oman.

 

On February 19, 2025, Minister of Foreign Affairs of Mongolia Battsetseg Batmunkh met with Minister of Commerce, Industry, and Investment Promotion of the Sultanate of Oman Qais bin Mohammed Al Yousef. At the meeting, the two sides expressed their satisfaction with the actively developing bilateral relations in recent years and reaffirmed their commitment to further expanding trade, economic, and investment cooperation.

 

Minister of Foreign Affairs Battsetseg proposed attracting investment in mutually beneficial projects and programs by identifying priority areas of cooperation between the two countries,  initiating cooperation between chambers of commerce and industry and businesses, and establishing a joint investment fund in this area. Minister of Commerce, Industry, and Investment Promotion Qais bin Mohammed Al Yousef expressed his intention to attach great importance to expanding bilateral relations and cooperation and emphasized the broad opportunities for collaboration in sectors including mining, investment, energy, tourism, and agriculture.

 

At the meeting, the two sides exchanged views on the possibility of exporting meat, meat products, wool, and cashmere products from Mongolia to Oman, and agreed to establish a permanent intergovernmental mechanism for cooperation between Mongolia and Oman in the near future to further expand trade, investment, and economic cooperation between the two countries. Foreign Minister Battsetseg invited Minister Qais bin Mohammed Al Yousef to participate in the Mongolia Economic Forum to be held in 2025, as well as Omani representatives to take part in the International Women's Business Forum to be organized under the auspices of the President of Mongolia.
