"Running With Deel" Event Held at the National Garden Park

Ulaanbaatar, March 7, 2025 /MONTSAME/. The annual "Running With Deel," a fun sports event where contestants run while wearing the traditional Mongol costume, traditionally organized during the Mongol Lunar New Year celebrations, took place at the National Garden Park on March 6, 2025.
The goal of this public running event is to promote healthy habits among citizens while showcasing Mongolia’s nomadic heritage by reminding people that Mongols have historically run and moved while wearing our traditional costume.
In 2021, Mongol triathlon athlete Ts. Tserenbat, who lives and works in Japan, initiated the idea of running in a deel to honor national customs and traditions. The event features relay races, where teams of four, where two men and two women compete under the name "Durvun Berkh".
For its fourth edition, the event saw participation from over 100 runners, including international and domestic participants.
