Warsaw, March 14, 2025 /MONTSAME/.  At the invitation of President of the Republic of Poland Andrzej Duda, President of Mongolia Khurelsukh Ukhnaa is paying a State Visit to the Republic of Poland on March 13-14, 2025.

On March 13, 2025, President of Mongolia Khurelsukh Ukhnaa and the Mongolian delegation laid a wreath and paid tribute to the Tomb of the Unknown Soldier in Warsaw, the Republic of Poland.

Also, the President of Mongolia signed the Book of Honored Guests at the Tomb of the Unknown Soldier, writing: “I express my profound respect for the eternal memory of the courageous soldiers who fought for the freedom and independence of Polish people. May the long-standing, historically rooted friendship and close relations between the peoples of Mongolia and Poland flourish forever.”

The Tomb of the Unknown Soldier, located in Marshal Jozef Pilsudski Square in Warsaw, honors the Polish soldiers who gave their lives for the freedom and sovereignty of Poland. The Monument bears the inscription: “Here lies a Polish soldier fallen for the Homeland.”

The pillars of the Monument list the historic battlefields where Polish soldiers perished while defending their country against foreign invaders. One such inscription, “Legnica 9. IV. 1241,” marks the Battle of Legnica in the spring of 1241, when Batu Khan’s forces defeated the combined Polish and European armies.

At the heart of the Memorial, an eternal flame burns, guarded by the soldiers of the Representative Regiment of the Polish Armed Forces. Military parades and ceremonies are held at the Memorial during national celebrations and special occasions, attended by the country’s top leaders.

It is also a long-standing tradition for Heads of State visiting the country and newly appointed ambassadors to lay wreaths and pay tributes at the Monument.
