Ulaanbaatar, April 14, 2025 /MONTSAME/. The first Consultative Meeting on the implementation of the “Food Supply and Security” National Movement was held in Bayankhongor aimag on April 11, 2025.

Governor of Bayankhongor aimag Munkhsaikhan Dolgorsuren delivered an opening speech and introduced the operations of the food sector in Bayankhongor aimag. Advisor to the President of Mongolia on Industry and Service Policy Davaabayar Chimiddorj presented the progress of implementation and outcomes of the “Food Supply and Security” National Movement, and exchanged views with domestic food producers.

In Bayankhongor aimag, 24 food factories and enterprises received soft loans under the “Food Supply and Security” National Movement to increase the supply of food within the aimag.

Advisor to the President Davaabayar Chimiddorj noted that the second phase of the “Food Supply and Security” National Movement should be intensified under the Regional Development Policy, emphasizing the need to support small enterprises.

Additionally, Bayankhongor aimag is aiming at developing clusters for camel milk and dairy production, animal feed cultivation, vegetable farming, and meat storage, with a goal of exporting these goods. As part of this effort, plans are ready for the production of dry milk and sweets. Also, a greenhouse complex covering 6,000 square meters and a 1,000 square meter year-round storage facility were constructed.

Governor of Bayankhongor aimag Munkhsaikhan Dolgorsuren remarked, “Bayankhongor aimag has focused on the clustered development of food enterprises and prepared the necessary foundation. Now, we need to supply our products to the market. The soft loans provided under the ‘Food Supply and Security’ National Movement were highly effective. However, issues such as loan allocation and loans not being more accessible in the rural regions persist. The second phase of the National Movement should prioritize loan accessibility for local producers, and aimags need to use domestically produced and healthy foods.
