Ulaanbaatar, April 29, 2025 /MONTSAME/. The Ministry of Environment and Climate Change of Mongolia, the National Agency of Meteorology and Environmental Monitoring, and the National Library of Mongolia jointly inaugurated the “Creative Nature” ecological study hall on April 29, 2025.

The study hall was established to provide ecological education to children, students, and the public through consistent programs and training, creatively teaching the importance of nature and the environment.

Ecological and cultural education programs aimed at instilling the importance of water and wildlife conservation and the love for nature are planned to be consistently implemented through the “Creative Nature” study hall.

Director of the National Agency of Meteorology and Environmental Monitoring Battulga Erkhembayar said, “The world faces a triple crisis in the environmental sector. These include biodiversity loss, climate change, and desertification. Studies show both human and natural factors play a role. The solution is green understanding, attitude, and consumption. We need to instill knowledge and understanding of ecological balance and relationships between humans and nature in children from an early age. Creating an environment close to nature begins in this ecological study hall. By instilling the right approach to future generations, issues facing Ulaanbaatar, such as air, water, and soil pollution, and waste problems, can be solved. Children can be the greatest influencers on their parents. Moreover, the number of children studying natural sciences is decreasing, and there is a shortage of human resources to manage, monitor, and conserve Mongolia’s water resources. We will also contribute to the training of natural science professionals through programs to be implemented in 21 aimags and soums.”

The officials emphasized that climate change, rise in air temperature, and desertification are rapidly progressing not only in Mongolia but also globally, becoming the pressing issues confronting humanity. In this era, sustainable and green development are prioritized, and it is everyone's responsibility to adopt an environmentally friendly lifestyle, learn sustainable habits, and change our attitudes.
