National Judo Juniors Championship 2025 Taking Place

Ulaanbaatar, May 1, 2025 /MONTSAME/. The National Judo Juniors Championship is taking place at the “Buyant Ukhaa” Sport Palace in Ulaanbaatar.


The Championship, which draws a large number of athletes, has brought together 87 teams from nine districts of Ulaanbaatar and 21 aimags of Mongolia. A total of 2025 young judokas are grouped into pupil, juvenile, and junior age categories. The highlight of the Championship was the Mongolian Judo Association's presentation of special red backnumbers to the champions in each weight division of the 38th boys' and 29th girls' championships.


At the opening of the Championship, Otgontsetseg Galbadrakh, a bronze medalist from the 2016 Rio Olympics and double medalist from the World Judo Championship, performed a demonstration showcasing her judo techniques of gripping and throwing moves.


Khuvsgul and Uvs aimags stood out in this competition for sending the largest number of athletes. Specifically, 60 judokas from Uvs aimag and 84 judokas from Khuvsgul aimag traveled to Ulaanbaatar to compete.
