Passenger Information Unit of Mongolia Gains Access to SITA Data

Ulaanbaatar, May 13, 2025 /MONTSAME/. The Civil Aviation Authority of Mongolia, the Passenger Information Unit (PIU) of Mongolia, and SITA signed the "SITA Advance Passenger Information (API) and Passenger Name Record (PNR) Gateway Services Agreement" on May 9, 2025.


The trilateral Agreement aims at enhancing Mongolia's border security and improving the capacity for passenger information management. It allows the Passenger Information Unit to receive API and PNR data through a secure channel provided by SITA, which collaborates with 60 governments and aviation organizations worldwide.

 

According to the Civil Aviation Authority of Mongolia, this Agreement represents an important step toward meeting the requirements outlined in the Chicago Convention on Civil Aviation, the UN Security Council Resolution on anti-terrorism and serious crime, and the regulations on Simplifying Air Transport stipulated by the Government of Mongolia.
