Environment
Ulaanbaatar, May 27, 2025 /MONTSAME/. Minister of Environment and Climate Change Odontuya Saldan, Minister of Finance Javkhlan Bold, and Chairman of the Board of the Mongolian Nature Legacy Foundation Boldoo Magvan signed a Memorandum of Understanding on Cooperation in Introducing a Performance-Based Financing System in the Nature Conservation Sector.
The Memorandum of Understanding was signed under the “Eternal
Mongolia” Program, which was established in April 2024 between the Government of Mongolia,
De Nature Conservancy, and the Mongolian Nature Legacy Foundation. The parties
will work together over the next four years to introduce results-based
budgeting and reporting mechanisms in the nature conservation sector, improve
the financing instruments for biodiversity budgets, and update the legal
framework. As a result, financing for the nature conservation sector will
become more diverse, transparent, and accountable.
