Ulaanbaatar /MONTSAME/ On May 9, a speech competition themed ‘Youth Participation in Northeast Asia Peace and Cooperation’ took place in the Mongolian University of Science and Technology. The competition aimed to drawing youths' attention on peace and friendly ties between northeast Asian countries including Mongolia, Russia, China, Taiwan and Japan and ensuring real participation of youth.

The youths challenged their ability through working out projects on pressing issues. 22 teams comprised of 69 students from eight universities sent their project materials and nine teams were  selected to take part in the speech competition.

"The competition gave us an opportunity to share our knowledge with other students. Our team members are fond of web development. Therefore, we created an application and a website named ‘uizen.com’ to connect youths around the world and to develop ourselves all together," said Ch.Uriankhai, member of ‘Trailerpark’ team which won the first place.

Yu.Khuslen, member of ‘24’ team noted that we formulated our project considering long term use of products made of recycled materials. Our country can get rid of its trash through recycling wastes and making various things such as light poles, chair, slide and road constrution materials.

Asian Studies Departments of the National University of Mongolia and the Mongolian University of Science and Technology organized the fifth competition in cooperation with World Peace Festival NGO, the Mongolian Institute of Northeast Asian Security and Strategy and Mongolian Forum for Supporting Korean Consolidation.
