Tourism product diversification under planning

Ulaanbaatar /MONTSAME/ The National Development Agency started implementing a project ‘Sustainable Tourism’ in cooperation with Thailand International Cooperation Agency and German Society for International Cooperation within the framework of a program ‘Local Development-Partnership’ being realized in Uvs, Selenge and Bayankhongor aimags.
Tourists come to Mongolia to travel naturally beautiful places, experience nomadic culture and life style and see unique historical and archaeological sites and findings. Therefore it is possible to boost regional tourism with different types of tourism products. In the frame of this goal, a project team made specific plan on these directions.
Moreover, specialists of the three aimags have completed 3-months training for project managers and coordinators in Thailand. Now they are conducting a survey on tourism product diversification. Models of regional tourism development, a technical and economic feasibility study of projects and programs will be formulated within the project. The project team said that the project will give big stimulus to fulfill a goal to increase number of tourists annually.
