Ulaanbaatar /MONTSAME/. During the regular Cabinet meeting that took place today on October 27, Deputy Prime Minister S.Amarsaikhan, Minister of Foreign Affairs B.Battsetseg, and Minister of Road and Transport Development L.Khalter have been obliged with the task to stabilize operations in the airline industry and increase the number of flights being conducted starting from next month.

Prime Minister L.Oyun-Erdene said, “The number of flights and their frequency need to be increased under a strict infection control regime by holding talks with countries whose borders are open. Especially if our southern neighbor continues to have their border closed for an extended period of time, we should increase the frequency of international flights.”

He also tasked Minister of Environment and Tourism N.Urtnasan to issue an appeal to both Mongolian citizens and foreign nationals to have COVID-19 vaccinations in Mongolia.

“In order to not have double standards, regulations need to be renewed, defining the Yellow and Orange Levels. Furthermore, as the World Health Organization is soon expected to issue a guideline on measures to implement in the case where over 50 percent of the population has been administered with an additional dose of the vaccine, it is necessary for us to carry out preparations to transition into the Yellow Level,” highlighted the Prime Minister.
