Six thousand scouts gather for “Go Nomad!” Jamboree
The Scout Association of Mongolia hosts the 31st Asia-Pacific Jamboree   On August 2, the largest international children's event ever hosted by Mongolia concluded.  This was the 31st Asia-Pacific Scout Jamboree which attracted some 7,500 participants, including 2,000 scouts from 40 countries, 6,000 scouts from Mongolia and 1,500 volunteers.  According to one of Mongolia’s first scouts Ariunchuluun Gundsambuu , the Scout Association of Mongolia made this gigantic event possible with the goal to re-introduce Mongolia’s nomadic heritage to the world' and in exchange, enlighten children from different corners of the world about a unique way of life and culture.

The Bank of Mongolia traded 647 billion MNT worth 1-week maturity central bank bill (“CBB”), with weighted average yield of 12.0 percent per annum.

Climate financing in Mongolia
In May, 2017, Mongolian commercial bank “Xacbank” received 500’000 dollars’ grant from Green Climate Fund. It was the first phase of GCF’s 20 million dollar contribution to reduce carbon emission rates in Mongolia. Mongolia’s capital Ulaanbaatar is one of the world's most polluted cities, mainly because of coal-fired power plants, and coal-fueled stoves and boilers which are used to heat homes in this world's coldest national capital. Even though the pollutants in the air is estimated to be 8 times the world standard, Government of Mongolia is too busy dealing with the financial crisis to take actions against it. GCF’s grant could bring major positive changes as it would kick start the biggest climate program with 60 million USD budget. Only 0.07 percent of the national budget goes to the Ministry of Environment and Green Development. Thus, climate projects are in serious need of financing, and that 500’000 USD might have come in just the right time.

There is a particular fascination when it comes to Mongolia—as there is a perfect blend of old country and new country. It’s probably the unique mountainous aesthetic that drew me to the Mongolian’s version of the Wild, Wild West. I made it my mission take as many photos as I wanted to challenge the pre-conceived notions of Mongolia as it has been called a harsh, inhospitable wasteland. With my writing pad on the one hand and my Sony Alpha 6000 camera in the other, I set out to uncover this mysterious “wasteland.”

Mongolia: A Mysterious Country for A Curious Mind  First of all let me get to this out of the way, I am an Asian-Australian. So, my appearance blends with the rest of the population of Mongolia but I am a true blue Aussie as they come. I would say I was perceived to be an anomaly by most Mongolians because I had this heavy Australian accent and laid back attitude and they were confused whether if I am actually one of them all or not.

What you should know about 2017 Naadam Festival
Over the past few days, everyone has been enjoying time-off from work to celebrate their most joyful time of the year - National Naadam Holiday. This year, the Naadam Festival is commemorating the 2226th anniversary of Foundation of first Mongolian Statehood, 811th anniversary of the Great Mongol Empire and 96th anniversary of People’s Revolution of Mongolia. Presidential election: counting underway, results not yet finalized
Results of the Presidential Election of Mongolia are yet to be finalized as counting is underway nationwide. According to a live report of the General Election Commission, Democratic Party's candidate Kh.Battulga is leading the presidential election with 511,826 votes (39 percent), while Mongolian People's Revolutionary Party's candidate S.Ganbaatar is following with 406,724 votes (31 percent) and Mongolian People's Party's candidate and current Parliament Speaker M. Enkhbold with 404,852 votes (30 percent).

Life at the yellow residence    Today, the inhabitants of Ulaanbaatar far exceed one million people.  Soon enough, two million people will be living beneath the slopes of four mountains.  In face of the harshness of life, not everyone can live prosperously.  People face vexing issues and unimaginable challenges every day.  Even after handling those impervious obstacles, fortune slays a man’s freedom of expression and progression.  These people with all sorts of disabilities undoubtedly exist and some of them don’t even realize where they’re living.

Emerging young filmmaker recognized
Director Uisenma Borchu is a young and free-spirited woman who has got dozens of ideas waiting to be interpreted and shared to people. She is a modest thinker. “I was always curious about everything and watched those who are in a weird situation. I had never imagined that I would be a director even though I loved watching movies. But I felt the need to express my thoughts and opinions. So I used to write them on a paper trying to compose a poem or story. That was me seeking ways to express what’s on my mind. And when I was 22, I realized that film could convey my messages perfectly. I had a big opportunity to study at the University of Television and Film Munich”, she says about how she became director.

Centuries of breeding make Mongolian dogs a unique species
Not far outside of Ulaanbaatar, is the ‘Ikh Mongol’ (means Great Mongolia) breeding house for dogs that originated in Mongolia. Dog breeder B.Erdenebat along with others interested in breeding Mongolian dogs founded the dog breeding house in 2004. Ever since he was a kid, B.Erdenebat loved animals and had several dogs as pets such as a German Shepard. Then, his fondness for dogs grew into a responsibility. “One day, I realized that there are almost no pure-bred Mongolian dogs around. Dogs bred from China, Tibet or somewhere else was believed to be Mongolian dogs”.
