“Local governance: Challenges and Solutions” nat'l conference runs
PoliticsUlaanbaatar /MONTSAME/ The National Conference is being held on December 15 at Blue Sky hotel, organized by the President’s Office, State Great Khural Secretariat, Cabinet Secretariat and the Citizens’ Representatives Khural of Ulaanbaatar.
President Ts.Elbegdorj, Minister S.Bayartsogt and other dignitaries addressed the conference, which gathered governors of 21 aimags, chairs of Citizens’ khurals and specialists in charge of local governance.
The President highlighted three main principles that need to be pursued in local administrations as follows: respect for human rights and freedom, observance of rule of law and promoting citizens’ initiatives and encouraging their involvement.
Minister and the head of Cabinet Secretariat S.Bayartsogt emphasized the importance of mobilizing the Decentralization Policy Support project by the Swiss Agency for Cooperation and Development and the Government of Mongolia.
