Ulaanbaatar /MONTSAME/ At the regular meeting of Monday, the cabinet approved the concept of new wording of the Law on Tourism and assigned Minister of Environment, Green Development and Tourism N.Battsereg to submit it to parliament.

The law, adopted in 2000, has been amended eight times due to changes in related legislations, "but is still deficient considering nowadays trends and development speed", said an initiator.

The new version reflects the international terminologies, tourism types, responsibilities of tour operators, guide, interpreters, government’s participation, public and private partnership in tourism, as well as the economic leverage to promote tourism.

Each year, Mongolia receives 400 thousand tourists, creating 50 thousand jobs and drawing income of some 260 million USD, which makes up 3.2 percent of the gross domestic products.
