Financial support to be rendered to babysitting services

Ulaanbaatar /MONTSAME/ The cabinet meeting on Monday approved a rule on granting financial support to the babysitting services.

Obligations were given to S.Erdene, the Minister of Population Development and Social Welfare; B.Bolor, the Minister of Finance; L.Gantomor, the Minister of Education, Culture and Science; and to governors of aimags and soums to fulfill implementation of the rule and to put control over it.

Adopted July 2 of 2015, this law will come into force from January 1 of 2016. This law gives opportunities to provide pre-school children living in remote areas with safe environment, to ensure their safety, and to let parents work with no worries.

According to statistics, Mongolia has 266 thousand children aged 2-5 years old, 59 thousand of them cannot go to kindergartens or schools. An introduction of the babysitting services will balance the needs and supply in the pre-school education and is expected to create 15-30 thousand jobs. By the rule, 36 thous.300 Togrog for meal and 70 thous. 500 for variable expenses will be spent for one child a month. A total of 10.8 billion Togrog has been placed in the 2016 budget.
