O.Burmaa becomes Asian Champion in wrestling

Ulaanbaatar /MONTSAME/ State Honored Sportswoman and three-time World Championship medalist O.Burmaa has won a gold medal in the 2016 Asian Wrestling Championship, which running in Bangkok of Thailand. This has become the first gold for her in Asian Championship.

In women’s 75kg division contest on Thursday, she defeated Uzbekistan and Kazakhstan. In the finals, she beat a Japanese Rino Abe.

Until this year’s Asian Championships, Burmaa collected three silver and one bronze medals.

By the championship’s schedule, contests of women’s 48, 53, 55, 60 and 69kg divisions are continuing today. Among Mongolians, a silver medalist of World Championship D.Otgontsetseg IMS has reached finals in women’s 55kg contest against an Indian. Other wrestlers D.Otgontuya (60kg) and Z.Bolortuya (69kg) will fight for bronze medals.
