Ulaanbaatar /MONTSAME/ According to Transparency International, Mongolia is the 72nd by its corruption perception index in 2015, scoring 39 points and advancing eight places from that of the previous year.

The index indicates the rate of corruption perception in the public organizations of 168 countires, considering the governance, politics, society, economy, law implementation and policies. Mongolia’s corruption perception has been defined on the basis of surveys with participation of eight institutions. The survey takes into account the quality of democracy, economic risks, political decisions, currency rates, legal development, implementation, monetary policy and other factors concerning every sphere.

According to the surveys, Mongolia scored lower than that of 2014 by justice in court, rule of law, management in the governance and competitiveness. These can also be affected by the bad image and news about Mongolia on the international arena.

These bad news included the attempt of involving bribery cases in the renewed amnesty regulations, the fact that a bill has been submitted to parliament on changing the agency that investigates corruption and that the Transparency International issued an appeal for Mongolia on this issue suring the International Anti-Corruption Conference, which took place in Malaysia last year.

However, Mongolia made some advancement in combating and preventing corruption, and enlightening the public about the pressing issue, through adopting new legal documents such as the Glass Account Law, Law on Legal Documents, General Law on Administration and the renewed Criminal Code.
