State Secretary expresses Mongolia's position on security in Asia
PoliticsUlaanbaatar /MONTSAME/ The State Secretary of the Mongolian Ministry of Foreign Affairs Mr D.Gankhuyag addressed the 5th meeting of the Ministries of Foreign Affairs of the Conference on Interaction and Confidence Building Measures in Asia held on April 27-28 in Beijing, China.
In his speech, D.Gankhuyag expressed Mongolia's position over building security and confidence in Asia, while emphasizing an importance of taking decisive response measures against traditional and non-traditional threats the regional countries are confronted with and resolving any misunderstanding and contradicting issues through dialogue. The conference is to play a particular role in these matters, highlighted Mr Gankhuyag and noted about Mongolian enthusiasm to ensure the regional and international security.
High-level officials from about 30 countries expressed their positions towards the ways of tackling urgent challenges the international community faces, and concluded the meeting with issuing a joint declaration.
After the meeting, the Conference Chairman and the Foreign Minister of China Mr Wang Yi received the State Secretary Mr Gankhuyag to share views on the Mongolia-China relations and cooperation.
Mr Gankhuyag also met with Foreign Ministers of Russia, the Republic of Korea, Kazakhstan, Indonesia, Vietnam and the Philippines, and gave details on ongoing leads-up to the 11th ASEM Summit to be held this July in Ulaanbaatar.
