Ulaanbaatar, October 1, 2025 /MONTSAME/. Chairman of the State Great Khural Amarbayasgalan Dashzegve received Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of the Socialist Republic of Vietnam to Mongolia Nguyen Tuan Thanh on September 30, 2025.

At the outset of the meeting, Chairman Amarbayasgalan noted that the traditional friendly relations between Mongolia and Vietnam have been expanding, highlighting that the two countries elevated ties to a Comprehensive Strategic Partnership last year on the occasion of the 70th anniversary of diplomatic relations. He added that bilateral cooperation has strengthened thanks to mutual efforts, particularly in politics, defense, economy, trade, transport, culture, and tourism. Regular high-level exchanges and parliamentary group cooperation have further consolidated inter-parliamentary ties. The upcoming visit of a delegation led by Vice Chairman of the National Assembly of Vietnam Tran Quang Phuong to Mongolia will deepen parliamentary and secretariat-level collaboration and provide a legal basis to enrich bilateral relations with economic content, he added.

Ambassador Nguyen Tuan Thanh commended the State Great Khural for successfully advancing legal reforms aimed at improving governance efficiency and emphasized that the current period represents a particularly favorable time in bilateral relations. He further noted that inter-parliamentary group exchanges have made a significant contribution to strengthening multifaceted, mutually beneficial cooperation.

The two sides underlined that there is vast potential for expanding cooperation in the economy, trade, investment, culture, and tourism. Trade turnover has been growing rapidly in recent years, and exports of Mongolian meat and meat products to Vietnam are expected to increase further next year. With the mutual visa exemption agreement in effect, people-to-people exchanges have intensified, with more than 40,000 Mongolian tourists visiting Vietnam in the first half of this year.

The parties expressed readiness to support the expansion of trade, investment, and transport cooperation between Mongolia and Vietnam by enhancing the legal environment, the Media and Public Relations Department of the State Great Khural reported.
