Three Mongolians top IJF rankings

Ulaanbaatar /MONTSAME/ The International Judo Federation (IJF) released Sunday the latest rankings of judokas of the world just after the Baku Grand Slam in Azerbaijan.

According to the rankings, a State Honored Sportswoman and 2014 World champion M.Urantsetseg still kept her superiority in the women’s -48 kg division with 3,134 points, and she is followed by an Argentinian judoka Paula Pareto who collected 2,860 points now.

Another World champion of Mongolia G.Boldbaatar went to the top of men’s -60 kg category by adding 500 extra points after he won gold medal in the Baku Grand Slam. D.Sumiya also topped the women’s -57 kg category with 2,751 points, being followed by a Romanian judoka Corina Caprioriu (2,160 points).

World championships silver medalist D.Amartuvshin was ranked 10th in the men’s -60 kg, D.Tomorkhuleg--3rd, D.Altansukh--6th in the men’s -66 kg, S.Nyam-Ochir, (men’s -73 kg)--10th place, G.Odbayar (men’s -73 kg)--14th place, N.Dagvasuren, O.Uuganbaatar (men’s -81 kg)--15th and 16th places, L.Otgonbaatar (men’s -91 kg)--11th place, N.Tuvshinbayar (men’s -100 kg)--16th place, M.Bundmaa, A.Tsolmon (women’s -52 kg)--15th and 16th places, Ts.Monkhzaya (women’s -63 kg)--7th place, and Ts.Naranjargal (women’s -70 kg)--18th place.

Ahead of the Olympics, Mongolian judokas to compete in the Almaty Grand Prix in Kazakhstan and the World Masters in Mexico in order to collect Olympic qualification points.

As of present, Mongolia has satisfied conditions to gain 12 Olympic quotas in judo out of 14 men and women’s divisions.
