EconomyUlaanbaatar /MONTSAME/ In the first four months of this year, 5,812 thousand tons of freight and 837.3 thousand passengers (duplicated counting) carried by railway transport.
Size of carried freight increased by 157.8 thousand tons or 2.8%, while the number of passengers decreased by 94.9 thousand or 10.2%.
The revenue from railway transport in the first four months of 2016 reached MNT 118.1 billion which increased by MNT 9.0 billion or 8.3% against the previous year.
888.9 tons of freight and 172.4 thousand passengers (duplicated counting) were carried by air transport in first four months of 2016. Compared to same period of the previous year, the volume of freight increased by 79.4 tons or 9.8%, and the total number of passengers--by 5.1 thousand or 3.0%. The revenue from this kind of transport reached MNT 68.7 billion, increasing by MNT 3.2 billion or 4.9% against the previous year.
