Foreign Minister meets leaders of JICA, JBIC and GPIF
PoliticsUlaanbaatar /MONTSAME/ In frames of his working visit to Japan, the Mongolian Minister of Foreign Affairs L.Purevsuren met Shinichi Kitaoka, the president of the Japan International Cooperation Agency (JICA); and Tadashi Maeda, the Managing Director of the Japan Bank for International Cooperation (JBIC) in Tokyo.
The JBIC Managing Director Maeda pointed out that the JBIC has become able to make investments in foreign countries besides providing financing for projects as the Japanese law on bank was amended in May 2016, so the JBIC has a willingness to cooperate with Mongolia in this direction. In addition, the JBIC’s functions of supporting overseas business of the Japanese private sector institutions have been re-directed at helping the private companies to penetrate into foreign markets, Maeda said.
The Foreign Minister Purevsuren said Mongolia acknowledges the credit and assistance from the Japanese government for they played a vital role in strengthening the Mongolian democracy, forming the new socio-economic system and making the fundamentals for up-to-date development.
He met Norihiro Takahashi, the president of the Government Pension Investment Fund (GPIF) to share views on starting the cooperation with the GPIF in the capital market of Mongolia. At a meeting with authorities of the Japanese Public Diplomacy Association, Purevsuren reached an agreement with the association on focusing bilateral cooperation on transit transportation and joint researches.
