Effective actions to be taken towards decentralization
PoliticsUlaanbaatar /MONTSAME/ The cabinet adopted Monday a state policy document on decentralization formulated in frames of the ongoing program for governance support which is being co-implemented by the governments of Mongolia and Switzerland.
The document provides for justification of the decentralization policy, its principles, implementation methods, and stages and outcomes to be achieved.
The document was developed after organizing several discussions with both domestic and foreign counsellors, experts, government organizations as well as reflecting proposals from officials from Ministries, agencies, the Citizens’ Representative Khural and governors.
The best practices of some countries show that the decentralization policy has a vital part in making the public services more accessible and effective, and building more transparent and responsible governance.
