Ts.Elbegdorj receives AIIB delegates
PoliticsUlaanbaatar /MONTSAME/ Mongolian President Ts.Elbegdorj received Wednesday Mr Jin Liqun, the president of Asia Infrastructure and Investment Bank (AIIB), along with his accompanying delegation.
The sides touched upon matters of infrastructure development in Asia, creation of Asia-Europe economic corridor and investment in road building.
President Ts.Elbegdorj highlighted that Mongolia’s infrastructural developments have been covering more areas, as the network of roads have expanded intensively.
AIIB started operations in January, 2016, and affiliates 57 members. AIIB wishes to implement its initial projects in Mongolia, noted Mr Jin Liqun. For this purpose, negotiations were launched about the building of new roads, and investment in road exploitation expenses.
The issue was first brought up by Prime Minister Ch.Saikhanbileg during his meeting with the AIIB President Jin Liqun in the margin of the 19th Annual Asian Investment Conference, took place last April in Hong Kong.
Present were at Wednesday’s meeting, the Minister of Finance B.Bolor, Adviser to the President on civil participation and economic policy L.Dashdorj and President’s foreign policy adviser A.Battor.
