President launches Naadam grand opening
PoliticsUlaanbaatar /MONTSAME/ President of Mongolia Ts.Elbegdorj gave the opening remarks to mark the official launch of Naadam at the central stadium on July 11. He, then, paid tribute to the Nine White Banners of the State.
The President made a clockwise turn around the Nine White Banners, while making the wrestler’s strutting gait.
In his speech, president greeted all “Naadam”-ers with congratulations on the 2225th anniversary of the first Mongolian statehood, 810th of the Great Mongol Empire and the 95th anniversary of the People’s Revolution, and wished the best of health and happiness.
President stated that this is his eighth time opening the Naadam celebrations as the head of state. “I am a son of an ordinary herdsman’s family that raised eight sons. I will continue praying for Mongolia’s prosperity and khiimori (wind horse) through my and the next generations”, said the President.
