Ulaanbaatar /MONTSAME/ Speaker of parliament M.Enkhbold received Thursday visiting Li Keqiang, the Premier of the State Council of the People’s Republic of China (PRC), at the State House.

Beginning the meeting, the Speaker said he is pleased to meet with the China’s Premier in Ulaanbaatar, and recalled their previous meeting during the Northeast Asia Expo to discuss the Mongolia-China relations and cooperation.

M.Enkhbold underlined significance of the Chinese Premier’s visit to Mongolia, and his participation in the ASEM Summit for progressing the Mongolia-China comprehensive strategic partnership relations and forwarding the real cooperation.

“I am happy with a successful meeting held between the Prime Ministers. Mongolian parliament is ready to make big efforts to make the outcomes of this meeting and agreements real,” M.Enkhbold said.

Talking about elections of parliament and the Citizens’ Representative Khural (Council) of Ulaanbaatar city, the Speaker said the Mongolian People’s Party (MPP) gained overwhelming majority of seats at both parliament and city Council, therefore it is about to form a new cabinet.

“Mongolia has been continuing its open and multi-pillar foreign policy since the democratic revolution, and the State Great Khural of Mongolia is paying attention to imroving domestic legislations and ensuring the unity of foreign policy actions,” he said.

In turn, Li Keqiang expressed his satisfaction with meeting with the Speaker and conveyed to him greetings of Xi Jinping, the PRC President; and Zhang Dejiang, Chairman of the Standing Committee of the National People's Congress. He believes that his talks with the Mongolian Premier will become fruitful in respect of the issues discussed between them.

M.Enkhbold, the Speaker said he fully supported the cooperation in the areas of construction and animal husbandry, and then expressed the willingness to learn Chinese experiences in reducing air pollution in order to cope with the same problem in Ulaanbaatar.

The bilateral trade and economic cooperation is the pillar of the comprehensive strategic partnership ties, the Speaker said, and pointed out that Mongolia aspires to maximize the commercial turnover to USD 10 billion by 2020.

Since Mongolia is a landlocked country, the parties shared views on transit transport through Chinese territory, providing Mongolia smoother way to reach sea ports, widening access for Mongolia agricultural and mining products to the Chinese market and accelerating mega-projects on investment, infrastructure and energy.
