Master budget in first half of 2016

Ulaanbaatar /MONTSAME/ In the first half of 2016, total equilibrated revenue and grants of the General Government Budget amounted to MNT 2541.3 billion and total expenditure and net lending amounted to MNT 3665.1 billion, representing a deficit of MNT 1123.9 billion in the equilibrated balance.

Compared to same period of 2015, tax revenue has decreased by MNT 104.7 billion or 4.5 percent. This decrease was mainly due to decreases of 125.4 billion or 36.5 percent in other taxes, by 31.5 billion or 6.2 percent in value added taxes, although social contributions, income tax, property tax, excise taxes increased by MNT 2.3-41.8 billion or 0.5-16.8 percent against last year’s first half.

In the first half of 2016, total expenditure and net lending of the General Government Budget reached MNT 3665.1 billion. It has increased by MNT  490.1 billion or 15.4 percent compared to same period of the previous year. This increase was mainly due to increases of MNT 352.4 billion or 12.7 percent in current expenditure, by MNT 137.0 billion  or 35.2 percent in capital expenditure,  MNT 75.7 billion or 7.0 percent in current transfers compared to the same period of the previous year.

In the same reporting period, 48.0 million pieces of securities were traded with a total value of MNT 156.9 billion in the stock market. The securities trading  decreased by MNT 430.5 billion or 73.3 percent and the number of realized shares increased by 28.4 million pieces or 2.4 times compared to the same period of 2015.
