Ulaanbaatar /MONTSAME/ Mongolian and Sri Lankan officials have exchanged views on actions being taken in frames of the Open Government Partnership, during the visit of a Mongolian delegation, led by the head of Cabinet Secretariat, Mr J.Munkhbat, to the Democratic Socialist Republic of Sri Lanka.
On the sidelines of the visit, the Mongolian delegation met with the authorities of Sri Lanka’s Ministry of Local Government and Provincial Councils, Ministry of Foreign Affairs and the Agency of Information and Communication Technology, and representatives of civil societies.
Head of Mongolian Cabinet Secretariat J.Munkhbat expressed his interest to host the regional forum on Open Government Partnership, as Mongolia has approved its Second OGP Program and accumulated some valuable experiences while implementing it.
Minister of Local Government and Provincial Councils of Sri Lanka F.Mustafa said “Mongolia is our close friend. I think we have a lot to learn from each other. Agreements on cooperation in local governance can be established on the government level, and cooperation between peoples and cities can be developed”.
OGP is multilateral initiative of voluntary countries, which aim to ensure transparency in their government services, promote public participation by reflecting citizens’ initiatives and opinions in decision-making, and introducing their public services to latest technologies.
