Mongolia to cooperate with Asian Pacific Association for the Study of Liver

Ulaanbaatar /MONTSAME/ On June 19, the Ministry of Health, Asian Pacific Association for the Study of the Liver and Mongolian Association for the Study of Liver Diseases established a memorandum of mutual understanding to cooperate within the framework of activities to carry out the ‘Whole Liver-Mongolia” national program.

During the memorandum establishing event, Minister of Health A.Tsogtsetseg said ‘The Ministry of Health is taking various measures to reduce spread of hepatitis virus and death rate from cirrhosis of liver and liver cancer caused by hepatitis viruses. We are glad to have opportunities to get advice on the implementation of the program, involve Mongolian doctors and specialists in domestic and foreign training and co-organize research works in the scope of the cooperation”.

The memorandum will enable the Asian Pacific Association for the Study of Liver to give advice on the process of the implementation of ‘Whole Liver-Mongolia’ national program, organize training for Mongolian doctors and specialists in the directions of treating, diagnosing liver disease caused by hepatitis viruses, in foreign countries and render financial assistance. Moreover, the Mongolian Association for the Study of Liver Diseases will support activities to invite international scientists and experts to work in Mongolia and co-operate on formulating training programs.
