B.Dagvasuren snatches silver medal from international competition of chefs

Ulaanbaatar /MONTSAME/ A graduate student at the Institute of Technology’s Department of Food and Technology B.Dagvasuren won silver medal in the Chinggis Khaan Challenge Cup-2017, an international gastronomy festival, took place on September 4-8 in Ulaanbaatar.
 
The competition was attended by over 100 chefs from 20 countries, such as, Russia, China, Germany, the U.S, South Korea, Italy, Romania, Turkey, Serbia, Syria, Qatar, Tunisia, Poland and Switzerland. The panel of judges included referees from Mongolia, Turkey, South Korea, Romania and India.
 
This year’s competition was co-organized by the World Association of Chefs Societies, the Mongolian Association of Master Chefs, the Mongolian Culinary Federation, the Mongolian Association of Nutrition and Food Service Management, the Mongolian National Chamber of Commerce and Industry, and the Ministry of Food, Agriculture and Light Industry, other entities.
 
The festival’s objectives were to promote Mongolian cuisine and to develop culinary industry, which could become main attraction of investments and tourism industry. 



Following the international festival, B.Dagvasuren plans to participate in the WorldSkills Abu Dhabi 2017, the world’s largest vocational skills competition to take place in Abu Dhabi, United Arab Emirates.
