Some special mining and exploration licenses to be cancelled

Ulaanbaatar /MONTSAME/ B.Baatartsogt, Head of Mineral Resources Authority, was ordered to cancel 14 licenses, at the Cabinet meeting on September 13.

These special mining and exploration licenses were given to mining companies, which are operating in the areas of reservation boundary located in Teshig soum, Bulgan aimag, Noyon Mountain’s reservation boundary in Bornuur and Batsumber soums in Tuv aimag, Tost of Umnugobi aimag and Toson Bumba’s reservation boundary.

 

In accordance with the 90th and 91st governmental resolutions of 2017, above mentioned areas of 754.8 thousand hectares were taken into state protection. A working group has been set up by the resolutions under an order of the Minister of Mining and Heavy Industry, and it worked on the site and met with officials of the companies to determine amount of investment and expenditure for the special licenses. The working group also checked actions of geological research and exploitation and concluded reports submitted to the Taxation Office.
