Tribute paid to foundation of capital city

Ulaanbaatar /MONTSAME/ The 378th anniversary of the establishment of Mongolian capital city will be marked on October 29. Last weekend, Ulaanbaatar city authorities paid a tribute to the monument at Lake Shireet Tsagaan in Burd soum of Uvurkhangai aimag, where the foundation stone of the Mongolia’s capital city was first laid in 1639.
During the ceremony, religious rites were given along with a cultural performance of the Ulaanbaatar Ensemble.
“Preceding the anniversary, the city authorities organize a number of activities, including this ceremony. The ceremony is so auspicial for the city’s prosperity. Also, more events are being organized, such as city sales, entertainment activities and cultural performances and children’s song festival. The capital city will turn 380 years in 2019, therefore we plan to organize many activities,” said S. Batbold, Governor of capital city and Mayor of Ulaanbaatar City.
