Ulaanbaatar /MONTSAME/ In the frameworks of the Bank of Mongolia's (BoM) three-month nationwide campaign ‘Financial Literacy’, the BoM intends to celebrate the World Savings Day in the country, in collaboration with the Germany’s Savings Banks Foundation for International Cooperation, the Mongolian Banking Association and the Mongolian Insurers Association.

In anticipation of the World Savings Day to be marked on October 31, the organizations held training for school children on October 23 to introduce an importance of thrifts and Mongolia’s national savings symbol. It involved 5th grade children of a general educational school #120, Bayanzurkh District. At the training, they were introduced advantages of savings and presented piggy bank, notebook ‘Plan on expending pocket money’ and book with illustrations about financial education.

The World Savings Day aims at promoting children to get a habit of saving money from their early age and increase awareness on the savings.

Collaboration with the organizations, the BoM plans to give savings awareness training to over 500 children of 16 general educational schools in duration of the ‘World Savings Day’ and ‘A month of savings’.
