World Book Day celebrated in State House

Ulaanbaatar /MONTSAME/ The Parliamentary Office in cooperation with the Mongolian University of Science and Technology (MUST) marked the World Book Day in the State House on April 23.
 
Mongolia has been celebrating the day for the last 23 years. It was the fourth time the Parliamentary Office marked the day with a book day event, which was attended by MPs, representatives of the President’s Office, the Cabinet Secretariat, the MUST, the Mongolian National Commission for UNESCO, the Legal Institute, the Union of Mongolian Writers, the Mongolian Libraries Consortium and other organizations. The book day event was participated by 12 publishing houses and other bookstores.
 
In his opening remarks, Ts.Tsolmon, Secretary-General of the Parliamentary Office, stressed the importance of holding the book event in promoting cultural and educational values and freedom of speech.
 
During the opening, Secretary-General Ts.Tsolmon handed over a package of books published by the Parliamentary Office to MUST Rector Dr. B.Ochirbat and Legal Institute Director S.Enkhtsetseg whereas books published by the UNESCO and the MUST were presented in return.
 
The opening ceremony was also addressed by S.Uyanga, Secretary-General of the Mongolian National Commission for UNESCO and Ts.Tsogzolmaa, Minister of Education, Culture, Science and Sports.
