U.Khurelsukh: We have to be prepared for disaster, preventing from loss of lives

Ulaanbaatar /MONTSAME/ Heavy rains since the beginning of July in most parts of the country caused much loss. In regard, Prime Minister U.Khurelsukh convened the State Emergency Commission today, being informed on current state and assigning tasks.

On July 11-18, some aimag centers and the capital city were affected by flooding caused by heavy rain and have had human, material and economic losses and impacts. 

After hearing the situation, the PM warned members of the Emergency Commission and relevant officials to be prepared for disaster and to prevent from losses.

Corresponding officials were assigned to intensify promotions and trainings on how to protect yourself and others from disaster, to broadcast other countries’ more detailed weather forecast as well as to study and develop own weather forecast application.

Moreover PM made a decision to supply 80 gers, water trucks and ambulance vehicles from state reserves to Bayan-Ulgii aimag which affected by flash flooding.

He also obliged to eliminate the flood damage, to estimate cost for recovery works and introduce it to the Cabinet meeting, to evacuate households staying in the area threatened by hazard, to eliminate damage and commence restoration works urgently. 

While recalling all organizations to ensure preparedness, the PM warned to provide reserves of hay, grass and fodder as well as to ensure winter preparation early.
