Respect paid to statue of S.Zorig for 20th year

Ulaanbaatar /MONTSAME/. Today is the day when S.Zorig, a meritorous figure in politics and society, was assassinated 20 years ago in 1998.
His colleagues of the time and the leaders of the Democratic Party paid their respects by laying flower wraiths at his statue. The real culprit of the crime has not yet been uncovered up to this day.
After two decades, the files relating to the crime is now publicly known to have become 14926 pages.
With aims of continuing in his footsteps and promoting democracy, his family and close friends founded the Zorig Foundation in 1998. Over the two decades the foundation, a non-governmental, non-profit organization has partnered with over 100 organizations and gave out 2,600 scholarships. For instance, the foundation has organized the US-Mongolia exchange student program and an intensive leadership training program in Australia in 2018. They have also had 23 community development projects in the time period.
