Industrial output reaches MNT 11.2 trillion

Ulaanbaatar /MONTSAME/ In the first 9 months of 2018, the gross industrial output reached MNT 11.2 trillion, showing an increase of MNT 1.8 trillion (18.8 percent) from the same period of the previous year.
This increase was mainly due to an increase of mining and quarrying gross output by MNT 1.2 trillion (16.9 percent), of which, mining of coal increased by MNT 858.5 billion (46.5 percent) and mining of metal ores increased by MNT 169.3 (3.9 percent) billion. In September 2018, the gross industrial output reached MNT 1.4 trillion, increased by MNT 197.3 billion (16.3 percent ) compared to the previous month.
The seasonally adjusted industrial production index in September 2018 was 173.6 (2010=100), increased by 0.7 percent from the same period of the previous year, by 13.7 percent from the previous month and by 17.7 percent from the end of the previous year.
In the first 9 months of 2018, in mining sector, extraction of copper concentrate, fluorspar, zinc concentrate and gravel are increased by 1.7-32.9 percent. In manufacturing sector, production of beer, vacuum windows and doors, fodder, combed cashmere, alcoholic beverage, sausage products, buuz and dumpling, cashmere products and wooden products are increased by 9.1-64.5 percent.
