Ulaanbaatar /MONTSAME/ The money supply reached MNT 18.3 trillion at the end of October 2018, showing an increase of MNT 391.3 billion (2.2 percent) from the previous month and by MNT 3.8 trillion (26.1 percent) from the same period of the previous year.

At the end of October 2018, the national currency in circulation reached MNT 887.8 billion, decreased by MNT 41.3 billion (4.4 percent) from the previous month and increased by MNT 55.7 billion At the end of October 2018, the amount of outstanding loan to entities, enterprises and citizens amounted MNT 16.4 trillion, increased by MNT 105.8 billion (0.6 percent) from the previous month and by MNT 3.1 trillion (22.9 percent) from the same period of the previous year.

At the end of October 2018, the principals in arrears amounted MNT 1.0 trillion, increased by MNT 51.8 billion (5.2 percent) from the previous month and by MNT 73.7 billion (7.6 percent) from the same period of the previous year. The principals in arrears makes up to 6.3 percent of total loans, showing an increase of 0.2 points from the previous month and whereas if decreased by 0.9 points from the same period of the previous year.

At the end of October 2018, the non-performing loans at the banks system amounted MNT 2.0 trillion, increased by MNT 603.1 billion (44.4 percent) from the previous month and by MNT 788.7 billion (67.2 percent) from the same period of the previous year. The non-performing loans at the banking system makes up to 11.9 percent of total loans, showing an increase of 3.1 points from the same period of the previous year. (6.7 percent) from the same period of the previous percent year.

In the first 10 months of 2018, 474.2 million pieces of securities worth of MNT 231.1 billion were traded at the national stock market, which is decreased by MNT 1.2 trillion (83.4 percent) compared to the same period of previous year. The number of traded securities increased by 403.5 million (6.7 times more) pieces compared to the same period of previous year. In October 2018, 36.6 million pieces of securities worth of MNT 9.8 billion were traded at the national stock market, which is decreased by MNT 10.8 billion (52.4 percent) and whereas if increased by 12.2 (50.2 percent) million pieces compared to the previous month.

Trade of government bonds in secondary markets amounted MNT 148.1 billion in the first 10 months of 2018, which decreased by MNT 580.9 billion (79.7 percent) compared to the same period of 2017.

In October 2018, MNT 2.2 billion worth of government bond was traded at secondary market, while MNT 0.3 billion worth of government bond was traded at secondary market in September 2018.

In October 2018, average of top 20 indexes of the financial markets was 20 463.6 units, increased by 428.9 units from the previous month and increased by 299 units from the same period of 2017.

In October 2018, total value of joint stock companies operating in stock market reached MNT 2.4 trillion, increased by MNT 246.9 billion (11.3 percent) from the same period of the previous year.

Nominal average exchange rate of MNT to US dollars announced from Bank of Mongolia in October 2018 was MNT 2 564.14 to one USD (USD 1) which is depreciated by 4.3% from the same period of the previous year and by 2.4 percent from the previous month.
