Russia donates vehicle laboratory for Mongolian zoonotic diseases center
SocietyUlaanbaatar /MONTSAME/ The handover ceremony of a fully equipped mobile laboratory from the Russian Federation to the National Center for Zoonotic Diseases (NCZD) of Mongolia took place on December 11 at the Ministry of Health. The Russian Research Anti-Plague Institute “Microbe” in Saratov, Russia ordered the mobile laboratory and Ms. Popova Anna Yurievna, Head of the Federal Service for Surveillance on Consumer Rights Protection and Human Well-being handed over the key and license of the mobile laboratory during the celebration ceremony of the 100th anniversary of the Institute on November 20.
The express diagnostic
mobile laboratory is fully equipped with 20 types of equipment worth MNT 670
million 105 thousand. Moreover, the Russian side donated 15 equipment in 5
types such as a biosafety cabinet, a blood collection mixer, a sterilizing
generator and microscope and 25 sets of tools worth MNT 59 million 150
thousand.
The ceremony was held
with participation of Minister of Health D.Sarangerel, Director of the NCZD
N.Tsogbadrakh, representatives from the Embassy of the Russian Federation in
Mongolia and other Russian experts.
It is said that the NCZD started its operation as the Russian Federation
donated a laboratory for marmot plague. The two countries have been cooperating
in direction of prevention from zoonoses since then. As of today, Mongolian and
Russia are closely collaborating towards protecting people’s health who are
living near the Mongolia-Russia border.
