Price index in Ulaanbaatar increases by 2.2 percent in November

Ulaanbaatar /MONTSAME/ In November 2018, consumer price index at the national level increased by 1.8 percent from the previous month, by 7.5 percent from the end of the previous year and by 8.1 percent from the same period of the previous year.

 

In November 2018, consumer price index increased by 8.1% from the same period of the previous year, which was mainly contributed by increases in prices of food and non-alcoholic beverages group by 7.6 percent (non-alcoholic beverages by 5.3 percent and milk, dairy products and eggs by 9.8 percent), alcoholic beverages and tobacco group by 8.1 percent, transport by 11.0 percent, housing, water, electricity and fuels group by 16.0 percent (electricity, gas and other fuels by 23.1 percent), and health by 12.7 percent.

 

The 7.5% increase in CPI from the end of the last year was mainly due to increases in prices for food and non-alcoholic beverages group by 7.2 percent (meat and meat products by 20.7 percent) and alcoholic beverages, tobacco group by 7.7 percent.

 

The 1.8 percent increase in CPI from the previous month was mainly due to increases in prices of food and non- alcoholic beverages group by 1.8 percent housing, water, electricity and fuels group by 4.5 percent, transport by 1.8 percent. In November 2018, consumer prices index from the previous month at the regional level increased by 0.3-2.6 percent in all aimags. The largest increase was 2.6 percent in Dornod aimag.

 

In November 2018, consumer price index in Ulaanbaatar increased by 2.2 percent from the previous month, by 8.9 percent from the end of the previous year and by 9.3 percent from the same period of the previous year. The 9.3 percent increase in Ulaanbaatar from the same period of the previous year was mainly affected by increases in prices for food and non-alcoholic beverages group by 8.0 percent, housing, water, electricity and fuels group by 23.4 percent, alcoholic beverages, tobacco group by 8.5 percent and transport group by 10.0 percent.

 

The 8.9 percent increase in consumer goods and services in Ulaanbaatar from the end of the previous year was mainly due to increases in prices for food and non-alcoholic beverages group by 8.3 percent, alcoholic beverages and tobacco group by 8.1 percent and housing, water, electricity and fuels group by 23.3 percent.
