Foreign trade surplus reaches USD 103.3 million in January

Ulaanbaatar /MONTSAME/ In January 2019, foreign trade surplus reached USD 103.3 million, increased by USD 40.6 million (64.7 percent) from USD 62.7 million in the same period of 2018.

 

The increase of USD 183.4 million in exports was due to an increase of USD 73.9 million in mineral products exports, and an increase of USD 102.9 million in natural or cultured stones, precious metal, jewellery.

 

The increase of USD 142.8 million in imports was mainly due to USD 30.0 million increase in mineral products imports, USD 15.1 million increase in diesel imports, USD 25.6 million in imports of machinery, equipment and electric appliances, USD 70.3 million increase in imports of transport vehicles and their spare parts and USD 5.9 million increase in imports of base metals and articles thereof.
