Health Minister D.Sarangerel attends international conference in Tokyo

Ulaanbaatar /MONTSAME/ Minister of Health D.Sarangerel attended an international conference themed ‘Antimicrobial Resistance-One Health’ took place in Tokyo, Japan on February 20-21.
"The Government of Mongolia has adopted its national action plan on antimicrobial resistance in 2017 and established an inter-sectoral coordination council. Regular organization of World Antibiotic Awareness Week in partnership with World Health Organization since 2015 has made its contribution to change habit of inappropriate use of antibiotics. "We consider that certain changes have been made as a result of frequent training and advertisement and information broadcast by media. Moreover, conditions and equipment of bacteriology laboratories have been improved with soft loan of Asian Development Bank. By introducing electronic prescribing in medicines reimbursed by the Health Insurance Fund last year, a favorable condition is being created for controlling antibiotic prescribing and its use as well as developing proper use,” the Minister highlighted in her remarks.
