FAO Representative works in Choibalsan city

At the invitation of the Governor of Dornod aimag, a delegation including Representative of the Food and Agriculture Organization of the United Nations (FAO) Vinod Ahuja, Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of the European Union to Mongolia Traian Laurentiu Hristea and EU Cooperation Team Leader Pierre-Yves Lucas are working in Dornod aimag. In the frameworks of the visit, they held meetings with the aimag governor and officials to discuss results of current projects as well as further partnership.
The aimag officials put forward suggestions to cooperate in fields such as preparing educated workforce for processing biological commodities, researching human-induced environmental degradation, rehabilitating and introducing necessary technology to put available resources in the aimag into economic circulation.
They then noted that they will be working on projects to develop technology-based manufacturing for agricultural and farming commodities and products, increase job opportunities and improve the people’s income and livelihood by supporting industries in the aimag in partnership with the EU and FAO.
At the end of the meeting, the FAO representatives expressed that they will support works that will be done to create opportunities for more sources of income in the value chain or meat, milk, wool, cashmere and hides, and introduce environmentally friendly practices to the five sectors alongside increasing the range of the projects and further develop the partnership.
