‘Patriotic purchase - Domestic production - 2019’ expo runs

Ulaanbaatar /MONTSAME/. Organized by the Ministry of Food, Agriculture and Light Industry, the exhibition, ‘Patriotic purchase - Domestic production - 2019’, opened at the Misheel Expo center on April 2. The cabinet announced the year of 2019 as ‘The year to promote patriotic purchase’, coming to the decision to approve a list of 155 domestically produced goods that meet the quality standards and add them as basic terms of tenders.
About 150 manufacturing businesses and over 50 government organizations are participating in the expo in aims of connecting domestic manufacturers with government and public organizations and introduce their products. Prime Minister U.Khurelsukh visited the expo and gave a speech to the state servants and citizens gathered at the event.
He said, “As of 2018, sales of industrial production reached MNT 15.7 trillion, which shows an increase of 21 percent from the previous year. As of the first two months of 2019, it also showed an increase of about 20 percent, making a significant contribution to the economic growth. Soft loans and tax exemptions to support domestic manufacturers from the government, and the investments made in the industrial sector to increase job opportunities are sure to have a positive effect on the sector’s growth so far.
With the approval of the package of revised tax laws at the Irregular Session of the Parliament, the conditions have been created to increase job opportunities, enhance tax environment, create a favorable environment for businesses, support lawful taxpayers by exempting up to 90 percent of tax and reduce tax costs. The Government of Mongolia will take step-by-step measures in supporting business owners, increasing export and making purchases from domestic manufacturers for government purchases.”
