Medical care for vulnerable populations to be improved

Ulaanbaatar /MONTSAME/ Minister of Health D.Sarangerel received Mr. Sangay Penjor, Chair of Urban Sector Group for East Asia Department at the Asian Development Bank (ADB).   


At the meeting, they shared views on realization of projects and programs being implemented in the health sector with loans, non-refundable aids and technical assistance from the ADB as well as new projects and programs.


The ADB has been rendering assistance on reforming health care system in Mongolia since 1993. As of today, the ADB has given a total of USD 132.55 million aid to the projects and programs. Particularly, big projects have being successfully implemented in directions of improving medical assistance and services, providing financing, health insurance and medicines safety, developing health information technology and human resource as well as broadening partnership between public and private organizations and preventing from HIV and AIDS.


In addition, a project on improving medical care for vulnerable population is planned to be carried out for 10 years beginning from 2019 within the Multitranche Financing Facility.


Moreover, actions will be taken for adopting strategy of strategic purchasing in health system and strengthening capacity of human resources in the health sector.
